The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test

Normally, we discuss our book during dinner; this one didn't wait! So many interesting personalities, cultural references, and mayhem that we stayed on topic all evening. Our meal was amazing and dessert was tie-dyed cheesecake! Chanon even gifted each Bluestocking with a tie-dyed shirt, which I am sure will be seen when we are on retreat this winter. :)

When Kate and I were in Boston five years ago, the bronze casting at the MFA  was one of the most fascinating things I saw. I spent quite a bit of time circling and studying this exhibit.

Shadow on the Crown

Our meeting for April has been postponed until 4/25 - more time for me to decide whether to buy hardback or kindle version. The kindle is easier to read but I do love putting Post-Its in a hardback.

At any rate, our book DOES have questions, as well as a brief summary and author interview. It is also the first of a planned trilogy.

Our book for March has a website with discussion questions and lots more to explore: fact vs fiction, a timeline, and photo gallery.

Retreat 2013

We missed the two Bluestockings who were not with us, but we DID enjoy ourselves at the 2013 Retreat. We managed to choose our books for the rest of the year without sacrificing food, beverage, and talk.
