A Bluestocking Country Christmas

Wine by the bonfire, a delicious meal, and a cozy farmhouse setting...what a perfect night it was for the Bluestockings. Thanks, Erin!

Spooky - Three Graves and Missing Three

Thanks to Angie for a wonderfully ghoulish meal (and the dessert was amazing)! We were missing a few Bluestockings (check out the sad, empty plate); hope we can all be together next month at Ann's for The Sisterhood by Helen Bryan (only 3.99 for Kindle now).

Three Graves Full by Jamie Mason

Couldn't find any discussion questions but did run across THIS, which explains her inspiration for the book.

The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test

Normally, we discuss our book during dinner; this one didn't wait! So many interesting personalities, cultural references, and mayhem that we stayed on topic all evening. Our meal was amazing and dessert was tie-dyed cheesecake! Chanon even gifted each Bluestocking with a tie-dyed shirt, which I am sure will be seen when we are on retreat this winter. :)

The Painted Girls by Cathy Marie Buchanan

Little Dancer Aged Fourteen

HERE are the discussion questions (scroll down past the Q&A with the author).

She has some interesting background, including her research, HERE.

When Kate and I were in Boston five years ago, the bronze casting at the MFA  was one of the most fascinating things I saw. I spent quite a bit of time circling and studying this exhibit.

Shadow on the Crown

Our meeting for April has been postponed until 4/25 - more time for me to decide whether to buy hardback or kindle version. The kindle is easier to read but I do love putting Post-Its in a hardback.

At any rate, our book DOES have questions, as well as a brief summary and author interview. It is also the first of a planned trilogy.
