Bluestocking Retreat Uniform

Some have already ordered their retreat uniform...yay! I'm going to go ahead and put it out there, though: I refuse to wear a red hat!

Eradicate Monkey Mind

After our discussion of Eat, Pray, Love, you might want to try a short guided meditation. Honestly, it's a great investment of eight minutes.

New Book with Bluestocking Connection

This book - just published - is by a cousin of Lee Huff, Molly's husband. Thanks for telling us about it, Ann! Amazon has it (as of today still a pre-order) for $10.17.
From the publisher's website (click on book for link): Emma Mosley is a dreamer who seems to be wishing on someone else’s star. You'd think that meeting the love of your life would make you wonderfully happy. The problem is that he belongs to someone else—her boss! Then Emma is forced into working for a nasty politician, and we wonder if she can keep it together. With a few more surprises, including a love triangle and a shocking political scandal, Emma's world falls apart, and she learns that sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and admit that you need someone.

Getting Ready for September

Remember the two things we discussed at August's meeting:
Be thinking about how we'll celebrate our 5th anniversary in April.
Bring a Christmas ornament for the 'needy'.

Great Quote from Flannery O'Connor

When I’m asked why Southern writers particularly have a penchant for writing about freaks, I say it’s because we are still able to recognize one. –Flannery O’Connor
