A Bluestocking Shower

Kate and Jay are going to have the most beautifully decorated home next Christmas, thanks to the Bluestockings! How do you express gratitude to people who shower your daughter with this much love? Seriously? Impossible.

Her Fearful Symmetry: The Meeting

Thanks to Ann for hosting another evening of wonderful food and entertaining discussion for the Bluestockings.  If anyone wants to know the meaning of the letter floating above the table or the significance of the white cat, Her Fearful Symmetry is a must read!

Thanks to Mary Ann, Misery was fun!  Amazing decor (notice Lucy at the piano), delicious meal, and great discussion made for a wonderful evening for the Bluestockings.

The Help

The Help is our book for August; thought you'd like to visit the author's website and check out the discussion questions (although I have a feeling that our discussion will go WAY beyond the suggested questions!).

The Lace Reader

Here is the website for our July selection, The Lace Reader. From that page, you can navigate to her blog, or learn how to read lace.

Click here for a video trailer with the author. For discussion questions, go here.

If you're interested in the Salem of the 17th Century, you might like to read about my twelfth great-grandmother on our tribal page or on wikipedia.

Serena by Ron Rash

I know you all have some burning questions about Serena...make sure you are ready with them on the 17th...you will get answers!

Thanks, Jean, for arranging the teleconference with Ron Rash! So great to hear about the book from the author's perspective...and to get answers to some of our burning questions!

East of Eden

Hope you are all enjoying our March selection as much as I am. For discussion questions and a good author bio, click HERE.

Great food, great friends, great discussion! Thanks Chanon, for a wonderful evening and for this picture that was totally stolen from your blog!

Retreat Reminder

Remember to bring your list of books to put on the reading list for the rest of 2010 (and your comfy pajamas!).
