2012 Retreat

See those empty spots in the middle?
Imagine Ann, Jean, and Mary Ann sitting there.
We missed the Bluestockings who weren't with us and there were a few bumps along the way (some literal).  However, we did manage to accomplish our literary and culinary goals for the weekend!

A Hundred Years of Happiness by Nicole Seitz

I read about this book on A Blog by Southern Authors (link at right). This author paints her cover art, too. Check out her website. This isn't her first book, but this short clip has me intrigued. It comes out March 2009.

New Book with Bluestocking Connection

This book - just published - is by a cousin of Lee Huff, Molly's husband. Thanks for telling us about it, Ann! Amazon has it (as of today still a pre-order) for $10.17.
From the publisher's website (click on book for link): Emma Mosley is a dreamer who seems to be wishing on someone else’s star. You'd think that meeting the love of your life would make you wonderfully happy. The problem is that he belongs to someone else—her boss! Then Emma is forced into working for a nasty politician, and we wonder if she can keep it together. With a few more surprises, including a love triangle and a shocking political scandal, Emma's world falls apart, and she learns that sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and admit that you need someone.
